3 arrested in Takoradi for faking a kidnapping incident. The Ghanaian police have arrested three suspects who faked a kidnapping incident in Takoradi, the capital of the western region. According to the police, the three falsified the incident and demanded a ransom of 5,000 GHS.

In a statement copied to the media, police said suspect Joana Krah had conspired with the other two suspects to fake her kidnapping and demanded the GHS 5,000 ransom from her adoptive father.

“Takoradi Division Police Command arrested three suspects, Joana Krah, 29, Susana Awortwe, 27, and Francis Eshun, 27, for allegedly faking a kidnapping and demanding a ransom or Five-Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS5,000.00) to have. ”

“According to reports, suspect Joana Krah conspired with the other two suspects, Susana Awortwe and Francis Eshun, to fake her kidnapping on Friday, October 22, 2021, after which her adoptive father was called to demand a ransom.”

Police added that when Joana Krah discovered that her adoptive father had reported the matter to the police and an extensive search was opened to find her, she turned up at Takoradi Central Police Station to confess that she was only with her father joked.

The suspects are Joana Krah (29), Susana Awortwe (27) and Francis Eshun (27).
