The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and the Pharmacy Council (PC) have requested that people in general be careful with incorrect and unacceptable hydrogen peroxides.
A joint FDA and PC claim in Accra found that drug offices had been short of hydrogen peroxide due to frantic buying.
Another research report showed that the use of hydrogen peroxide had shown immediate insurance against COVID-19.
According to the research, a mouthwash made from hydrogen peroxide could limit SARS-CoV-2 diseases.
The usual oral cleansing fluid, meant to be humble, instantly accessible, and protected to be used with low restraint, could be used to reduce the viral load in the mouth and nasal pits of COVID-19 in patients and the infections they shed to inactivate said.
The FDA and PC proclamation states, “This has resulted in an increase in the supply of false and inadequate hydrogen peroxide. Drugstores and over-the-counter drugstores are therefore advised to consistently purchase their stocks from authorized wholesalers and manufacturers. “
It also reminded the general population to only buy FDA-approved hydrogen peroxide and other therapeutic products and to look out for the mandatory FDA approval numbers for such products unless there is a chance they were made locally in Ghana.
The claim generally urged people to report cases of suspect drugs to the FDA and the Pharmacy Council through contacts 0551112224/0551112225 and their web-based media handles and PC contacts 0557918347 and 0204361309.
