Heavy downpours claim a life in the Savannah region

A heavy downpour on Thursday evening claimed the life of a middle-aged man in the Savannah region.

The man’s remains were discovered on Friday, August 27, along with his bicycle in Frafra Valley No. 6 by some residents of West Gonja parish.

The as yet unidentified corpse is said to have been washed away by the heavy downpour, which also flooded some households and washed up roads in the community.

“We have since filed a complaint with the Damongo Police Station. Even if the identity and cause of death are not immediately known, we suspect that the heavy downpour could have dropped the helpless man at the scene, ”he said.

He also indicated that all necessary steps and formalities have been taken. “We are currently on our way with the police to bring the still-to-be-identified body to West Gonja Hospital for preservation,” said Abraham added.
