Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, says he is ready to go to jail for his backfiring prank.
Shatta Wale said so minutes before he was taken away to serve his pre-trial detention in custody.
The embattled dancehall artist overheard gestures while escorting him from the courthouse: “I’m ready to go to jail for this”.
In the meantime, he pleaded not guilty to posting false news and causing fear and panic.
His accomplices, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Idris Yusif and Eric Venator, are also charged with aiding and abetting crime and are due to spend the next week in police custody.
However, she also pleaded not guilty.
The four people are expected to appear again in court on October 26, 2021.
