Singer / actor Justin Timberlake and his actress wife Jessica Biel let go of their 10 acre property in Hollywood Hills, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. They listed the property, which Timberlake acquired in two transactions since 2002, at an asking price of $ 35 million. That’s quite a step up from the $ 8.3 million he paid for his first purchase almost 20 years ago.
Timberlake bought the 13,350-square-foot home from actress Helen Hunt, but the property is steeped in Hollywood history dating back to the 1940s when a mansion was built there by The Adventures of Robin Hood star Errol Flynn. Flynn was not interested in a typical house at the time and allegedly had the house designed with secret passages, two-way mirrors and hidden peepholes, among other things. Unfortunately, sometime in the 1980s, that old Hollywood relic was razed and replaced with two lots, both of which were eventually bought by Timberlake of Hunt to give it its current 10 acre lot. His purchase price for the second property, which comprised around 7 hectares of undeveloped land, was not disclosed.
After extensive renovations by Timberlake and Biel, the house now offers interiors designed by Estee Stanley such as a fitness room, a demonstration room and a new type of entertainment area that surrounds the entire main house. Outside, you’ll find a separate guest house, as well as a 25-foot infinity pool and separate plunge pool.
The official listing of the accommodation continues:
Youthful and entertaining main house features an open floor plan, gourmet kitchen, exercise room, screening room, 7 bedrooms including a lavish master suite. The epic outdoor living room encloses the house and provides the perfect backdrop for the great entertainment house, 85 foot long Zero -Edge pool with plunge pool underneath, lighted tennis court, meadow, forest and vegetable gardens from the farm to the table. A unique stately residence. “
Other notable showbiz stars who have lived on this property include cowboy actor Stuart Hamblen and early pop star Ricky Nelson. Only time will tell whether the next buyer or buyers will be able to continue its long legacy as a prominent property.
It’s unclear whether Jessica and Justin plan to buy a new home in Los Angeles. If they can find a buyer for the above property, they can head to New York City, where they own a 5,400-square-foot penthouse that was bought for $ 20 million in 2017. There is a monthly HOA fee of $ 15,000 for this building. They also own 130 acres of vacant land near Nashville that was purchased for $ 4 million in 2015 and property in the exclusive Yellowstone Club in Montana that was purchased for an undisclosed price. Yellowstone Club membership is $ 300,000 upfront and $ 30,000 per year. The club has 13,600 hectares of land, 2,200 of which are drivable.
So you have options if you don’t want to continue having a home base in Los Angeles.
