He was born Darryl Kevin Richardson II on January 19, 1984 in Atlanta, Georgia. Lil Scrappy’s father, Darryl Sr., sadly left the family before he was born. He then grew up with his siblings with his single mother and attended a military school in California. Scrappy started writing lyrics at the age of nine, and by the time he was a teenager he was already rapping and delighting the crowd of his peers. At this point, Scrappy had dared to act and was in the middle of filming a hip hop drama movie “Just Another Day.” He was expected to tour and promote after filming his fourth studio album “Tha Grustle”. But in November 2011 the album was discontinued. Lil Scrappy announced that he has left Disturbing the Peace and that the album will finally be released in 2012 on Bonzi Records.
