NDC activist criticizes Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, and calls on Ghanaians to vote against NPP

An opposition youth activist The National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Issah Fawan, has expressed its anger over the way President Akufo-Addo and his veep, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, borrowing money to manage the country’s economy.

In a statement released yesterday, Friday September 3, the youth activist said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by President Akufo-Addo, spat and went back to lick it on the floor .

Alhaji Fawan meticulously reminded the Ghanaians of the words of Dr. Bawumia, while the NPP was in opposition, that there was money in Ghana, and he knew it because he had previously worked at the Bank of Ghana.

“While in opposition, President Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia’s NPP took a strict and breakneck stance on borrowing, claiming that the NDC government was doing more harm than good by borrowing, that it was completely unnecessary and that our beloved Ghana did not have foreign currencies need help and is strengthening his campaign message: GHANA BEYOND AID, ”he wrote.

“It is a shame that the New Patriotic Party sought international help when it took office without showing it, and they still do. During a presentation in Accra Thursday evening [November 26, 2020] to support the re-election of President Akufo-Addo on December 7th, said Dr. Bawumia: “You remember that the NDC government had to go to the IMF to save the economy. That was a rescue mission indeed !. It was clear that the Mahama-led NDC government had gotten lost, abandoned the Ghanaians and had no idea how to get us out of the ditch they drove us into. ”He continued, in the audience laughing … “he added.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. In favor of National Democratic Congress, we are grateful for your dedicated collaboration and collaboration with us in consolidating our democracy and building a prosperous Ghana.

I would like to begin by reflecting on President Nana Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia’s NPP’s position on the sheer transparency and the utmost truthfulness, which embodies the principles of governance, in relation to the unwarranted borrowing and massive corruption in which he and his government are embroiled.

In their opposition, President Akuffo-Addo and Bawumia’s NPP took a tough and breakneck stance on borrowing, claiming that the NDC government was doing more harm than good by borrowing, that it was completely unnecessary and that our beloved Ghana did not need foreign aid to reinforce its campaign message: GHANA BEYOND AID. It is a shame that the New Patriotic Party sought international help when it took office without showing it, and they still do. During a presentation in Accra Thursday evening [November 26, 2020] to support the re-election of President Akufo-Addo on December 7th, said Dr. Bawumia: “You remember that the NDC government had to go to the IMF to save the economy. That was a rescue mission indeed !. It was clear that the Mahama-led NDC government had gotten lost, abandoned the Ghanaians and had no idea how to get us out of the ditch they drove us into, ”he continued to tell im Audience laughing.

I picked up one of the daily newspapers a few days ago, on a Wednesday morning, if I remember correctly, and opened the finance section, which said, “Economic recovery after COVID: IMF gives Ghana $ 1 billion.” So I thought, “That is another help from the beyond, haha. ” I don’t blame them because there is no way a man who studied structural adjustment, economic welfare and voting behavior for a PhD in economics in the 1992 presidential election in Ghana has no knowledge of the real economy.

Ghana Beyond Aid was a properly stacked campaign message that the NPP government pointed out to us Ghanaians as a ploy to secure votes and make their way into the government because they really don’t believe in their own campaign message and not their own Campaign message stand and the nation continue to overthrow and continue to be in debt.

Today we can all testify to the deception that obscures the Akuffo-Addo administration and its stated stance by simply looking at Ghana’s public debt profile, which is increasing year after year. In fact, the country’s debt ratio rose a whopping 33.762 percent between 2017 and 2020, a period of just three years. The Akuffo-Addo / Bawumia government’s stance on excessive and irresponsible borrowing has left us with nothing worth mentioning to cover the dire expenses, let alone service our debts and pay salaries to civil servants.

Corruption is at an all time high and I thank my brother, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq. for the excellent fact-based press conference on August 30, 2021, which shed light on most of the corruption scandals of the family and friends government led by the mother queue of corruption.

As if these were the only worries of the concerned Ghanaian people, the Akuffo-Addo / Bawumia government clearly has no understanding of the country’s economic plight. Economic hardship caused by the implementation of poor policies that drive up the cost of fuel, food and building materials. Despite the economic troubles mentioned above, the NPP government continues to spend extravagantly, suggesting that ordinary Ghanaians are not concerned. Hiring a jet through President Akuffo-Addo for $ 14,000 an hour for recent travel needs is completely unnecessary and a slap in the face of the already desperate Ghanaian. This shows how unconcerned the Akuffo-Addo / Bawumia government is – taking a stand and not having the decency to stand by its truth.

These are the “honorable” men you all voted for, and I hope you will reconsider your decision for years to come.
