Notorious Nigerian arrested for robbery and burglary

Accra Regional Police Command arrested a 25-year-old Nigerian for robbery in Oyibi, Kpone-Katamansu municipality, Greater Accra.

Suspect Karimu Seidu, a scrap dealer, is believed to be a notorious suspect who was involved in multiple robberies and break-ins in Accra.

Another suspect, Richard Narh, 45 years old, was also arrested for receiving dishonestly stolen goods from Karimu Seidu.

According to Deputy Police Inspector (DSP) Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs at Accra Regional Police Command, suspect Karimu Seidu broke into the victim’s home at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2021, by going through the fence wall of the Sacrifice in the grounds of the house.

Upon entering the house, the suspect broke open the burglar-proof kitchen window and entered the main building.

He attacked a resident of the house who saw him enter a room.

However, the police received an 911 call and quickly dispatched a patrol team to the scene, where they met the suspect when he was overpowered and arrested.

When he was arrested, the police seized 2 cell phones, 1 Apple tablet and some other valuables.

The suspect mentioned a Richard Narh during interrogation as the one who buys his stolen loot when he goes there
steal and he led the police to arrest him in his hiding place in Nima.

Police investigations revealed that Karimu Seidu, who invoked the same mode, was involved in other break-ins in the area and was tracked by surveillance cameras.

The investigation into the case is still ongoing as the two suspects would face charges after a court investigation, police said.
