Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports Hon.Mustapha Ussif visited the Black Star players on Monday after their arrival for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with Ethiopia.
The visit was to welcome the team and encourage the players to give their best in the game as it begins the journey to Ghana’s 4th World Cup appearance.
Sweetheart. Mustapha Ussif, together with the President of the Ghana FA Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, welcomed the players who had arrived at the camp at their non-residential camping base.
Led by skipper Andre Ayew, the players expected a very good start to the campaign against the Walia antelopes from Ethiopia on Saturday.
The visit was prior to the team’s trip to Cape Coast on Tuesday.
Ghana will face Ethiopia in the first group game of the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers and travel three days later against the South African Bafana Bafana.
Ghana’s win against Ethiopia will lay a solid foundation for the team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after Ghana missed the 2018 edition in Russia.
The Black Stars have already secured a ticket for the AFCON 2022, which will be held in Cameroon next January, and now want to secure the double by also securing a ticket for the World Cup.
With the motivation of the sports minister and the Ghanaian FA President and the strategic plan of the two to secure qualification for the World Cup, the Ghanaians are optimistic that the Black Stars will have a brilliant start to the qualification.
The following are some recordings of the minister’s visit to the team on the Monday before leaving for Cape Coast on Tuesday morning:
