Prang Chief Welcomes President Akufo-Addo through 1D1F Starch Factory
The head of the Prang Traditional Area in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region, Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III, asked the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to set up a starch processing plant in his district as part of the “One District, a factory”.
In his speech following the President’s visit to his palace on Sunday the 8th, the factory was founded.
Says the Chief, “Pru West District is the proud host of a huge starch processing plant that we are confident will have you back with us very soon to do the commissioning. I am personally proud and privileged to see such a project in my life. “
Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III continued: “Since I came to the throne as Supreme Chief of Prang, it has been my desire to attract industries and businesses to my area that would become my legacy for posterity. Lo and behold, Mr President, I can now say that this long-burning wish and dream has become a reality in my lifetime. The youth will be hired and the vices will hopefully decrease. “
The Paramount Chief also thanked the President for solving the constant water shortage that plagued the Traditional Area.
“Mr. President, as part of improving the persistent water scarcity that has been a nightmare in Prang, you successfully built the Prang small town pipe water system project. The people of Prang now have running water in their homes year round,” he said.
He also pointed out that several mechanized boreholes and hand pumps have been built throughout the district to provide drinking water for the people of Pru West.
The chief also praised President Akufo-Addo for ensuring, under his administration, that “the Pru West district has seen historic developments throughout the district. This includes all state flagship programs; First under your able leadership, the Pru West constituency was declared a district on March 15, 2018. This was after several years of failed attempts. A dream came true for us, ”he emphasized.
Regarding agriculture, the Paramount Chief noted that the Pru West District has received two agricultural tractors and other farm implements and has established an agricultural mechanization center to help farmers plow their fields at subsidized prices.
“Mr. President, with the free SHS educational program, Planting for Food and Jobs and Planting for Export and Rural Development, my people who are mostly farmers are grateful to you,” he added.
The Prang chief thanked President Akufo-Addo for mentioning an office of a government agency in the district and said, “We are grateful once again for making Pru West District host a state-of-the-art regional office for the Access Roads Office. The construction of the two story office complex is fully completed and we understand that you are here today to get it up and running. We say thank you and God bless you. “
In the fight against COVID-19, he congratulated the President on the “remarkable leadership” shown in the fight against the disease.
