Reposting the teacher: Do not accept teachers with 3rd grade or passport

The Shama District Education Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has warned its Human Resource Directorate not to accept teachers with a 3rd grade degree in the district.

Management reported this to their Human Resources Department to inform teachers interested in teaching in the district.

Further interrogations confirmed the statement, but further clarifications indicate that the order came from the regional directorate.

It is worth recalling that the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced earlier the date for the start of the district and regional transfers of teachers for the academic year 2021/22.

In a letter from its director of the Human Resource Management department, Ms. Adjoa Van Vicker, to all regional education directors on July 15, 2021, GES informed that the rebooking / transfer process should begin on August 1, 2021.

The letter also stated that all transfers, but scheduled to begin August 1, 2021, will take effect from January 2022.

GES explains the reasons for the start of the reposting process in August 2021 and its full effectiveness in January 2022.

In order not to disrupt the flow of teaching and learning, the GES has further indicated that the transfers will take effect from January 2022, as the academic year began in January 2021 and is expected to end in December 2021.

Insurance letters

GES said that all regional education directors should also know that issuing letters of assurance will take effect from August 1, 2021

Completed applications

Completed applications for national postings are expected to be forwarded to GES headquarters by September 30, 2021.

However, GES has advised that teachers seeking retraining can only be fired after the Director-General has given the applicant’s approval and a retraining letter issued.
