Thomas Partey announced that Arteta’s advice helped the team win against Aston Villa.
Despite hitting the net for his country regularly, the Ghanaian midfielder has not been able to score for Arsenal since joining from Atletico Madrid last summer.
On the other hand, Partey often tried his luck from a distance, but to no avail.
In Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa, however, he scored the goal, albeit from a slightly shorter distance, by heading Emile Smith Rowe into a corner.
“The team knew what to do, we had to keep fighting and maintain our intensity. In the end we can get results with the quality we have, ”he told the Mirror.
“The whole team was frustrated and we wanted a win. That was the mentality we brought into this game today and we were able to get our result. “
“I’ve waited a long time for this moment. I think it was the right moment to have it and I am very happy, ”he added.
“The team did a very good job. We have to do that every weekend and every game and we can achieve beautiful things with it.
“They deserve it. They supported us when things went badly and when things went bad. This victory is for you and I hope you enjoy it.”
