UTAG will cease all services and schools will close on Monday
Teaching, research and community service are the tasks of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). As a result, the Ghanaian University Teachers Association only kept the teaching component and did the remaining two activities, namely research and community service.
Because of this, UTAG threatens the government that if it fails to meet its demands, it is likely to suspend the remaining services. This means that the schools will not operate should the remaining services cease.
Students, on the other hand, only have one week to take their final exams. Because of this, almost all students are unsure of what to do next.
This is because by this point most university students have spent all of their money and eaten all of the groceries they brought from their respective homes. In the meantime, the government and UTAG still have to agree on their demands.
According to the UTAG President, schools will be closed on Monday August 16, 2021 if nothing positive comes out from the government on Sunday August 15
