World Cup qualification 2022: Zimbabwe can stand a goalless draw against South Africa at home

Zimbabwe scored in the opening match of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying on South Africa’s home soil on Friday afternoon.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe drew 0-0 against Bafana Bafana from South Africa at the National Sports Stadium.

Hugo Broos, who directed his first game as South Africa coach, cited a powerful attack that involved Luther Singh, Percy Tau, Gift Links and Evidence Makgopa to get a flying start to qualifying.

But they were held by Zimbabwe under the auspices of former Asante Kotoko coach Zdravko Logarusic, who got his tactics right against the Bafana Bafana.

Ghana will face Ethiopia in another Group G game tonight.
